Sheffield chum John posed the question in yesterday's blog, namely does the Stagecoach service 65 (Sheffield to Buxton) still run.
The ever-reliable GoTimetable Sheffield advises:-
Travel South Yorkshire tells us in its list of emergency changes:-
Travel South Yorkshire has a full set of out of date timetables to help you:-
Traveline in Sheffield also shows wrong timetables:-
As does Traveline in Derbyshire:-
BUT, Traveline in Derbyshire cannot find the 65 on its journey planner. It routes you via Bakewell and T M Travel 218 ...
... which stopped running weeks ago!
And most bus stops in Sheffield are now showing the much talked-about PPE - the Pointless Pink Explanation - which recommends:-

... the service changes list, which tells you 65 is running a Sunday service ...
... or twitter (no chance) or Traveline's over-priced phone service. ("overpriced" - fancy charging you a fee to find out what they sell; fbb wonders what would happen if Tesco tried that one!).
And Stagecoach web site? It denies all knowledge of a 65 but offerd not a whit of explanation.
Has Stagecoach Yorkshire/Chesterfield ever run a route 65?
The Omnibus Society reports that the service was suspended from 30th March, the same date from which, according to Travel South Yorkshire, Stagecoach would be running a Sunday service all week.
Well done all concerned!

Transport For London Nationalised?
Not quite. Maybe not yet?
London Transport has just (and according to rumours, literally only just, negotiated a bail-out plus loan to avoid near total collapse. But there are conditions
Sounds like the first steps towards State control?
Chinese Trees Please
They do look rather fine!
If In Doubt, Cheat!
fbb has been spending money again. Seeking something different for a troublesome gap in the yards of Peterville Quarry Railway, fbb decided to "build" some quarrymen's cottages out of corrugated iron sheets. Of course he would never have the skills to make them so it was Hornby's Skaledale series of resin moulded complete buildings that provided the structures.
This one is called a "workshop" ...
This one is called a "workshop" ...
... and this one a "tin house".
So they were repainted to slightly disguise their origin ...
... but the huge workshop doors did not look right. So they had to be replaced with something more residential.
A skilled modeller would cut out that wall and replace it with something skilfully crafted to match the rest of the building.
Too hard for fbb, he cheated. A piece of ribbed plastic sheet ...
Too hard for fbb, he cheated. A piece of ribbed plastic sheet ...
... and a couple of Ratio window frames ...
... were stuck OVER the offending garage doors. Even worse, the windows were stuck OVER the wall, not set therein as they should be.
The blinds are drawn! A bit of filler to hide the less than accurate cutting and ...
... a bit more blue paint and you would never spot the cheat. A chimney stack was also fettled up from odd bits of plastic.
No 2 Arrives.
And A Picture Puzzle
What is it? Where is it?
And what is it doing?
Answer tomorrow!
