I, too have found the Stagecoach office in Chesterfield surprisingly helpful.fatbusblokehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06833340546527596517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-80141068149958002322012-06-05T17:04:37.672+01:002012-06-05T17:04:37.672+01:00Julian may be wise enough to understand Stagecoach...Julian may be wise enough to understand Stagecoach timetables, but he obviously doesn't know his way round the railway. Travelling before 9.30! Far too expensive. More to the point, if you look up Chesterfield on "stations" on www.nationalrail.co.uk, there is a link to an "Onward Travel" poster, which tells you to catch the Mastin Moor bus from the stop on Brewery St, with a local street plan.

The Famous Five would have felt at home in Chesterfield on Saturday, as buses of their era were involved in a running day (see www.transpirebus.org.uk ). While there, I popped into the enquiry office on New Beetwell St, where I picked up a Stagecoach Chesterfield map, dated June 2012. It's comprehensive for the town, though it doesn't go out as far as Mastin Moor. The lady behind the counter sounded as if she would have been quite capable of dealing with children unsure of their way.Frankfrognoreply@blogger.com
