Over the last two years the moving average has declined from 96.46% to 92.78%, and as Darryl has already pointed out, the root cause is the work at London Bridge.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-32401852928468022562016-03-19T09:47:42.177+00:002016-03-19T09:47:42.177+00:00I am well aware of the problems, but Southern is t...I am well aware of the problems, but Southern is the service provider. They must be held to account for bad service delivery. It is then up to Southern to take Notwork Rail to task.

Perhaps the Network Rail delay payments awarded to the train companies should be more painful and more public.

As you will see, local passengers are being appallingly short changed by the operator in many many ways.

One easy answer, of course, would be to run less trains and charge higher prices. That would, in theory, be a perfectly sensibler commercial decision if custom is growing.

Not, of course, a popular decision. It isn't - it's a very clever mock - and the company are still using the SR-inspired roundel, as a simple check of their website would have shown.

Let's hope this isn't going to be one of those TOC-bashing style posts. Shortcomings by Network Rail are equally at fault, as are failures by successive governments to realise that trying to put more and more trains through the same, creaking Victorian-era infrastructure will only work so far. The current work at London Bridge is long overdue, but unfortunately it's a case of 'short-term pain for long-term gain'. Hopefully FBB can rise above the editorial standards set by the local rags, BBC South East, etc. etc.Darryl1976https://www.blogger.com/profile/08752208655180245529noreply@blogger.com
