The council delegates provision of roadside publicity to the operators so there will probably be a timetable if it is a Stagecoach service. As for the sort of council produced roadside timetables produced by our neighbours in Milton Keynes and Warwickshire – if only

Waitrose is to the left of the wooden fence in the picture, The bus stop here has times for service 49 in both directions. This stop is for service 49 terminating at Rushden Lakes and services X46 /47 en route to Wellingborough and Northampton. The stop on the other side of the road adjacent to the sheds and the lamp post has no timetable information. Service 50 seems to use the road on the other side of the Waitrose building.

I think it has come as a surprise to Stagecoach and Rushden Lakes that if you give this new out of town shopping utopia lots of advance publicity, including the BBC featuring the wildlife centre at the site on last Sunday’s “Countryfile”, people will go there. There is already the nearby Waitrose store which has a very nice café’ and other established premises which bus passengers might want to visit. Let us hope this is a temporary arrangement and when a week today the shops open someone will have tidied things up.

Has anyone booked the fly past of pigs for next Friday?
Alannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-64275500743819213242017-07-14T07:12:20.961+01:002017-07-14T07:12:20.961+01:00But whose responsibility is it to provide timetabl...But whose responsibility is it to provide timetables, etc.? Usually it's down to the Council - but this is presumably private property, so it may fall to the Centre's management instead. The bus companies need to do some serious nagging!Andrew Kleissnernoreply@blogger.com
