It also categorically states that "Ultra’s pods would never run along existing roads. The system relies on a central computer controlling all movements on a pre-set guideway."<br />I visited the test track somewhere in Cardiff Bay and rode on a prototype pod, maybe 15 years ago, and being rather sceptical of the commercial potential. The fact that only one system has been installed in the UK in the interim years would seem to justify that scepticism.Man of Kentnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-30951739779953154542017-02-22T15:18:01.553+00:002017-02-22T15:18:01.553+00:00Or even "of the area"Or even "of the area"fatbusblokehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06833340546527596517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-8261658546317916182017-02-22T15:17:17.899+00:002017-02-22T15:17:17.899+00:00Guided by pre-programed computer program containin...Guided by pre-programed computer program containing a VERY detailed equivalent of a Sat Nav! Do they respond to the surroundings (as in a genuine driverless car), or are they more like those vehicles which were around in the 60s, following cables or coils embedded in the road?Andrew Kleissnernoreply@blogger.com
