They have also either run out of/got bored with 'Southern' names as there are roads named after Hackworth, Stephenson, Gresley, Collett and Stanier.Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10873684146448441448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-965317965105357932012-05-15T21:39:54.802+01:002012-05-15T21:39:54.802+01:00Indeed. His biggest (?) claim to fame was to paint his engines in "dog-poo" brown which he called "improved engine green".
Under normal circumstances neither he, nor his engines, ever passed the site of Hedge End station.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-25804431226413373772012-05-15T19:42:42.948+01:002012-05-15T19:42:42.948+01:00"Stroudley" Way seems an inappropriate n..."Stroudley" Way seems an inappropriate name for a station on a former LSWR line!RC169https://www.blogger.com/profile/03921368833118123055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-14821874209053284782012-05-14T09:43:52.602+01:002012-05-14T09:43:52.602+01:00Yep, indeed. Not sure that an overweight pensioner would relish the return trip in recent weather conditions laden with bags of goodies. But a pensioner on Locke Road probably has a car.
Travel South Yorkshire can't (won't) show loops properly as it means their real time screens get very upset if you ask them to show two buses at the same time - as Ken opined above.
Well ... that's what they told me.
For data management purposes it is possible to show the whole 8/8A shebang as one ginormous route Hospital - City - Hedge End - City.
Problem solved, eh?
But that would mean a different set of data for printed material and that would never do, would it?fatbusblokehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06833340546527596517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-68380546721271983722012-05-14T09:25:22.851+01:002012-05-14T09:25:22.851+01:00Ken Traveline Dorset here.

Then throw in a third version of the timetable necessary to drive real time correctly..........I could go on but...Fbb knows hat i'm driving at!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-56390200765017835332012-05-14T08:30:31.978+01:002012-05-14T08:30:31.978+01:00I know Traveline has minimum connection times betw...I know Traveline has minimum connection times between services and journeys, so as it cannot recognise that the same bus continues across the Barleycorn, it may be that 3 minutes is too short for it to show a "connection" in this instance. Perhaps the redoubtable Ken from Traveline Dorset could oonfirm?

And in fairness, the walking option to the superstore is faster than waiting for the bus...Man of Kentnoreply@blogger.com
