Stagecoach also expressed concern that if the Oxford - Woodstock was badly affected by competition, it could affect the level of service on the rather less busy Woodstock - Chipping Norton section of the S3.PHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12696494987405853972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-55734219329935994372017-04-03T08:39:14.832+01:002017-04-03T08:39:14.832+01:00But in Oxford there is a quality partnership (desc...But in Oxford there is a quality partnership (described elsewhere as "a registered Voluntary Partnership Agreement") with the county council, which means these things are legally discussable.

PS
Woodstock has a *Town* council.Shieldsmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00197794322283545552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-30655954309778383512017-04-03T08:38:50.614+01:002017-04-03T08:38:50.614+01:00Presumably this discussion will be under the auspi...Presumably this discussion will be under the auspices of the Oxford Bus Partnership which already sees the two operators co-ordinate services & ticket inter-availability led by the council. If it is part of a statutory quality partnership organised by a council then the discussions are acceptable.

As a note I'm not sure the Hard Interchange has needed half its old capacity for some time and much of the empty space just made it lookless attractive to customers. This may be one of the few times when a new but smaller bus station is a good thing with little downside (normally the new bus station looks architecturally nice but are inadequate for the number of buses that want to use them - Northampton & Chatham are the most noteworthy, Leicester Haymarket being another with issues)dwarfer1979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432323264902617108.post-3418339497471875842017-04-03T07:40:20.797+01:002017-04-03T07:40:20.797+01:00"two companies will come together to discuss ..."two companies will come together to discuss potential solutions".

Erm . . . I'm not sure that the two companies are allowed, under competition law, to discuss potential solutions!

Agreed that 7 BPH is unsustainable from Woodstock . . . . maybe 4 BPH at most.greenline727https://www.blogger.com/profile/03033268278026535109noreply@blogger.com
